park city you never disappoint.

from your deer-dolloped hillside to the afternoon pockets of surprise thunder and lightning; i limp home, weak-knee’d, by your humble magnificence.

it’s friday i’m in love…

friday friendly skies to you m’loves.

i’m off on a jet-plane to belatedly ring in my girlfriend, jill grogg’s, 30th birthday.

the weekend promises laughter, love and diaper changes–we’ll have three infants in tow……six, counting our spouses.

here are a few other things i’m loving on this week:

dude?

yumbutter.

kind of says it all right there.

yumbutter is a new almond butter i’ve been having “relations with” all week.

it’s made with freshly ground chia, hemp seed + goji.

it’s yum indeed and bonkers healthy for you.

even better, yumbutter is deliciously charitable.

with every yumbutter you buy, a malnourished child gets fed.

and on a more personal topic, i appreciate the squeeze-pouch dispenser–also known as the “no-katie-you-can’t-eat-it-all-in-one-sitting-with-a-spoon” jar.

although as i was uploading this photo i realized i could totally mainline it, reddi-whip can style.

this cinnamon toast crunch ice cream needs to happen.

to me.

to you.

to one of us.

…and soon.

ninieties

it’s no secret i’m obsessed with, maybe still stuck in, the nineties.

case in point: the 90’s karma ride my partner-in-crime, leigh beach and i taught last month.

i didn’t have to buy one thing for my “costume;” including my beloved brenda walsh choker-an heirloom i hope to someday pass down to sweet sutton, once she’s come to appreciate all things darren star.

all the music i sourced was already on my every day playlist–listen below.

so anything 90’s related i’m a sucker for; especially this compilation of awesome red carpet nineties couples!!—{leigh, i think they need to add us..}

tell me kittens, what’s your favorite nineties tune?

hair

finally my hair.

i have new hair…and i LOVE it!

laurie bernard one of the fabulous owners of holiday salon gave me the chop last week and i’m a new person!

screw losing the baby weight…..this feels so much better.

wishing you an insane in the brain weekend to you m’loves!

bouncing the bounce bursts…..

August 26th 2015

before (1 of 1)-5

wednesday happy to you m’loves.

since discovering my beloved bounce bursts test on animals i’ve been scouring the grocery aisles and google pages for a four-legged, friendly alternative.

to my unhandy dismay, the best i could come up with was a do-it-yourself concoction involving epsom salt + essential oils.

typically when i see the initials DIY, i break out in a rash and involuntarily vomit.

i DON’T-do-it-myself. i pay to have it done or i go without-i’m just not artful that way.

but even this “project” seemed kindergarten enough even for my ikea-averse brain.

before (1 of 1)-3

the hardest part was picking the scent.

nothing is going to smell as strong as those bounce/downey burst/crystals; they are artificially/chemically fragranced {i.e. toxic} therefore much more potent and longer lasting–and also more dangerous to your health.

that being said i had to be willing to forego the robust, {fraudulent} fresh-smelling house and clothes i had grown to love.

i chose a grapefruit + cinnamon combination.

i am washing hunkiest’s clothes too so it couldn’t be too floral and these were pretty inexpensive….around $3 each…some essential oils can get pricey.

before (1 of 1)-7

in a mixing bowl i added:

6 cups of the epsom salt.

+

 3o drops of grapefruit oil.

30 drops of cinnamon oil.

{adding more oil if you want a stronger scent.}

before (1 of 1)

after blending, i popped my crystals into an extra-large mason jar, and stuck it up next to the laundry soap.

i added 1 tablespoon of “salt,” straight in with the clothes for washing, and so far, so good.

our clothes aren’t stinky, and the salt makes them baby-kitten soft.

as stated earlier, the scent is nowhere near as strong as the bounce bursts-even our neighbors could smell the “malibu sunrise” aroma of those suckers, but our consciences and our laundry are both clean.

before (1 of 1)-8

because i had solved this homemaking and moral scruple, last night i rewarded my handy do-it-myself-self a solo trip to target.

of course, as i’m zippity doo dah’ing my way down the aisle i run, smack into the new display for these mrs. meyer’s laundry scent boostersleaping bunny certified fragrance bursts for your laundry.

{my deep, eye-rolling, shoulder-tossing exhalation}

so there you have it.

make your own like i did…or buy the mrs. meyer’s kind…like i will be in the future.

wednesday april fresh to you m’loves.

it’s FRIDAY, i’m in love!

friday-i whip-my-hair-back-and-forth-to you m’loves!

summer is winding down, and i feel like i’m just getting my toes sandy.

last night i asked hunkiest if we should plan a summer vacation.

you’d think i’d had offered him to smoke crack.

apparently we’re not taking a summer vacaction….and i guess i can kiss that date night with the crack pipe goodbye.

in the meantime, here are a few things tickling my friday fancy:

we-are-called-to-rise-9781471132599_hr

i’m loving laura mcbride’s novel: “we are called to rise,” another great recommendation from my friend, mrs. burns.

this one is brutal.

my cheek has a permanent palm print from the incessant, emotional whacks this novel delivers; starting at page one.

i’ll admit i’m a teeny bit afraid of the direction this story is going toward, it may not be for everyone, including myself, but so far, it’s THAT good- i can’t put it down.

my therapist….ok AND my pharmacist, are both on speed dial just in case.

so who wants to make this pretzel ice cream cake for me?

356

will somebody please go get this sweet baby girl?

and once i have my farm, i have found our next dog{s}.

dress

i lived in this blue maxi, shopbop dress during my pregnancy.

i’m still wearing it this summer.

it and a few other summer dresses i love just went on sale.

i’m digging this article on small ways to pay it forward….

remember to keep it anonymous folks!

talking about your generosity or posting about it kinda negates the whole thing.YouTube Preview Image

and finally, a friday jam.

it’s an oldie, but i brought this one back in my classes this week.

peeps seemed to dig it.

how are you planning to ROCK your weekend m’loves?
